According to Allan's "Sunny day in Flint, MI (part 1)," (the link can be found in the first post of this thread), the arches were installed in November 2003.

I thought i heard that it used to be one somewhere. It looks really cool, wish it was still used as a firehouse, that way it would be maintained better.

I saw another building just like that firehouse today. Its where Court st, Hammerburg, and Courunna Rd all meet up. Its next to the moped shop.

I knew they were at the corner there, but i didnt know that they owned the firehouse building, too.

What do they use it for?

From what I remember (and this is from me reading the newspaper years ago) they snapped it up because they didn't want it to sit vacant and to have it become an eyesore. I imagine they use it for storage, and parking in front of the building. I've never even been in Captive Sports, so I have no idea, just guesses.

If you guys haven't heard, Citizens Republic Bancorp is moving most of its Lansing offices to the headquarters in Flint. I wonder how many extra employees this will bring to their offices in downtown Flint? Any news from the Flint Journal?
