HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- The Huntersville town council is expected to make a decision Monday night on a zoning change for a controversial new development.

The land they're discussing is at the corner of Hambright and Beatties Ford roads.

Without knowing specifics about the project other than the general location, it's a good chance that that site will get developed. Huntersville is growing like crazy and the powers-that-be there haven't seen many development ideas they haven't liked.

There hasn't been a new subdivision approved in the Huntersville area in almost 2 years. Mostly because the much more restrictive (than charlotte) zoning restrictions make it much more difficult to build bad but profitable developments.
