I'm still not sure I believe it, but this is what we've seen today:

  • Boston Globe reporting that Capital Centre Parcel 2 is a go thread

  • One Ten Westminster announced by the mayor thread

  • The Procaccianti Group's 'Power Block' renovations and expansion of the Holiday Inn and integration of the Westin, Convention Centre, and Civic Centre with it. thread

Here's where Providence's building heights stand now:

  • Bank or America Building aka The Superman Building

    Height 428 ft

    Floors 26

  • One Financial Plaza aka Hospital Trust Tower

    Height 410 ft

    Floors 28

  • Westin Hotel

    Height 329 ft

    Floors 25

Here's what we've had announced today:

  • One Ten Westminster Arcade Tower

    Height Unknown

    Floors 32

Speculation: The 32 floor height does not directly equate to a taller structure than the Superman or Hospital Trust tower. Office buildings generally have taller floors than residential buildings do. Taking the Westin's floor to height ratio (a hotel has more residential like floor heights) we get, 421 feet, which would make it second place in the city height race. Although the Westin has ornamentation on the top that it doesn't look like 110 West will have, it could be slightly shorter than Hospital Trust.

  • Intercontinental Parcel 2

    Height Unknown

    Floors 16

    Height Unknown

    Floors 19

Speculation: Using the Westin as a guide is a little tricky here since they are so much shorter, anyone know the typical floor height in a residential structure? For comparison's sake, the Biltmore is 18 floors, 220 feet, Dominica Manor on Federal Hill is 16 floors, 175 feet.

  • Holiday Inn Reno, addition The infamous "Hilton Project"

    Height Unknown

    Floors 27

Speculation: Again, the Westin is 25 Floors 329 feet. Without the Westin's ornamentation, we should be seeing something about the height of the Westin. Notably the Westin is in a bit of a depression, while this would be on a hill, making much more impact on the skyline.

The paper today said that One Ten will be 360 feet, which will put it in above the Westin to be the new 3rd tallest building in the city.
