Not an exhaustive list, just off the top of my head of Florida places, good and bad:

Miami: The Magic City, The Big Orange, Capital of the Americas, the Sixth Borough, Cruise Capital of the World, Drug Capital of the World, M-I-A, the 305

Fort Lauderdale: Venice of America, Fort Liquordale

Hialeah: City of Progress

Coral Gables: The City Beautiful

Orlando: The City Beautiful

Gainesville: Gatorville

St. Augustine: The Nation's Oldest City

Pensacola: America's First Settlement

Aventura: City of Excellence

Ft. Myers: City of Palms

The Florida Keys: The Conch Republic

The Big Texas cities.

Austin: A-T-X, Capital City, Live Music Capital of the World

Dallas: Big D, Dino, Dirttown,City where the East Ends, D-Town

Forth Worth: Museum Capital of the Southwest, Funkytown, Cowtown, City where the West begins

San Antonio: River City, Alamo City, San Antone, Tone City, Mission City

Houston: H-Town( thank Houston for starting this one lol), Hustletown, Bayou City, Space City,Magnolia City, Screwston, Energy Capital of the world, Oil Capitol of the world, Clutch City

Columbia is also referred to as "Da Metro" within SC.

I can tell youv'e listened to a few radio stations while in Columbia. Not very many people outside the area know that it's called that.

By the way my birthplace is know as "Brick City", Newark, New Jersey.

I've always loved the Redneck Rivieria moniker used for the NW Florida gulf coast cities.

I thought this term was for the MS gulf coast, like Biloxi, Gulfport, and Pascagoula? That's where the casinos are anyway, so it makes more sense to me.

Orlando is O'Town. Miami can also be called MIA. St Augustine is ST Auggie and Orange Park, suburb of J'ville is The OP.
