Two of my favorites are Beverly Hills, CA and - if we go international - Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Beverly Hills City Hall looks like a resort at night when it's lit up! Rotterdam has terrific gargoyles all around.

Yea. I don't like people copying other older buildings. Like they want to look old, when they're not.

I really like that city hall in rotterdam. And the old buffalo city hall.

And, believe it or not, I think Boston city hall was cool!! BRRRUTALISM! Real fun. THAT will be architecture that will be rememebered, instead of fraud copies.

The city hall in oslo was built in 1950, and has some what an interesting architecture. This is typical funconalism, and the main impression of the building is really simple. However, it has many interesting details. Around the building you will find incarvations and statues showing norwegian history.

The city hall is right in the centre, of where the oslo fjord ends; so this is what yu see if you approach oslo with a ship

Oh man, I love Moderne architecture! Also I have to admit that I love Bostons City Hall. The building itself is fine but the resot of Gov't Center is boring and crappy. But I will admit that the building would be better served if there was more going on around it. Ive got some nice pics I'll try to post later.

Buffalo's city hall has some great architecture but looks scary from a distance (ie from I-190). I think it might need some exterior help.

I thought the Seattle City Hall was the new building that's between the Justice Center and the (currently being demolished) Public Safety Building. I know the city owns that tower, but I think it's called the Municipal Tower.

Yes its in the offices of the BRA (Boston Redevelopment Authority).  That model is so cool, I wish I had one of my own.

Overall I like the building, but its just in the wrong place.  Like others have mentioned Brutalism is better situated in softer context.  The windswept brick wasteland that is City Hall Plaza is a vast missuse of urban space.  Several years ago there were proposals to eliminate this area with an "urban forest", hotel and grass.  There were also plans to extend hanover street through to cambridge st, which would have been great.  But that plan died, like most great ideas, so we are left with an Aztec Tomb sitting in a red brick tundra.

I agree, I love the look of the Boston City Hall but I am upset about what it destroyed to make it. so beautiful architecture, bad urban planning. That should sum up my opinion of that.
