Presov

Slovakia 3rd largest city, according to the population number, is Presov with cca. 93.000 inhabittants. Situated in the east of the country, just 20 km, or 16 miles from Kosice, highway connection is linking these two Slovakian cities. Historical part bears mainly the baroq architecture with the houses built mostly at the end of 18th and the beginning of 19th century. Modern part is, however, not so large and compared to Kosice the newest architecture is not so abundant.

Still, the city, even situated in the region, which is not very economically rich, is striving for better importance now.

@monsoon: Sure, there are not such traffic jams as in bigger cities, even in Slovakia. However, sometimes in the morning even in Presov it is terrible. And the degree of motorisation is gradually growing up. That is one of the reasons why another section of highway, connection of the city and easternSlovakia to the west of the country is going to be started this year.
