The Big "I" is now underway.

"The I-10/ I-95 Interchange project will not only increase the capacity of the

Interchange but will also increase safety and efficiency by reducing and/or

eliminating many of the current cross-lane weaving movements that drivers must

negotiate as they use the current interchange. Forest Street will be widened to

accommodate the new interstate access ramps."

Construction Cost: $148 Million

Contract Duration: 2034 Days (approximately 6 years)

Number of Bridges to be Constructed: 17

Number or Major Phases to Complete Project: 10

Number of Lane Miles to be Constructed: Approximately 25 Miles

I had to manage this intersection for years in the 1980s. This is an overdue project! Sounds fantastic!

Certainly a much needed improvement! Sorry the thread regarding RAP was removed, too volitile I guess.

At first I thought LA or Houston then I realized the air wasn't brown. In that case I would say Atlanta.

Atlanta's getting there.

This is an awesome interchange, says "Big City."

Once finished it will already be at capacity, just like the new interchange at I95 and I295 south of town. They're already planning expansion and upgrades and it hasn't been finished a year yet!

You are 100% correct. That is precisely why commuters will continue to cut thru Riverside on College and Post Street.
