"The Mint" is absolutely  horrible.  What a missed opportunity. Especially with what is going across the street and the ballpark across the other street.

At least the Mint has retail in the back, The Taproom Social, which works for that area near the ballpark.  Although a nice complex, The Circa is what irks me with zero retail being in such a prime location (I won't mention my thoughts on the Element...).  This 500 WT project is decent, glad there's retail facing the streetcar...reminds me of a variation of a shorter Uptown 550.

Y'all know I don't like the destruction of the Polk Building once on this site  but I can admit this is not too bad.

I actually like how he cutoff off the sky and skyline in that picture.  Hides the height of each tower and makes it feel & look dense AF.  Also, it makes the focus of the pic on the foreground (500 WT).

I like the way this site is turning out but even more love how bullish NWR has been on Charlotte.  This site and the Ballantyne high rise site coming online within the next 3 to 6 months which is about the time they may begin another high rise apartment in midtown.

I love the angle of that last picture. The one thing i love about this projects, and some of the other mid-rises going up in Uptown is the large amounts of people it will bring to live in the area. Which in turn should bring more restaurants and nightlife, much like SouthEnd. There are what, close to 1000 apartments being built in Uptown right now? That's a lot of new people.

I like this development. It might be small for Charlotte but it would dominate my town. Would love to have something half that size in my town.

I think that since the front whole corner is pretty dead with just brick and no retail that they should incorporate an installation piece. Some art work to give that large section some life.
