Better transit for the D!

Recommended Posts

Passing along information important to our Metropolis:

SAVE THE DATE: March 7th Joint Session of Transportation Committees in SE MI

Importance: High

On March 7th, transit advocates and supporters of vibrant urban cities have a timely opportunity. A joint session of House and Senate Transportation Committees will convene in Southeast Michigan to take public testimony on MDOT's 5-year plan.

For all the time and effort we have collectively shared, here's a prime opportunity we should maximize. I urge that all pro-transit and pro-city forces participate in some way. Whether you offer testimony in person or send written comments to committee clerks AHEAD of the session -- let's make our concerns center stage in these proceedings.

To facilitate this call to action, here are the specifics:

WHEN: Monday evening, March 7th

TIME: 6:30PM

PLACE: Canton Township Hall-s Freedom Room (on the lower level), 1150 South Canton Center Road in Canton, MI 48188

WRITTEN TESTIMONY: Bring a minimum of 30 copies

ADA CONCERNS: Anyone needing special accommodations should contact the Chair's office - House Transportation Chair Rep. Phil LaJoy (R-Canton)

Rep. LaJoy's toll-free number: 866-LAJOY21;

toll call - 517-373-2575; his office e-mail: [email protected]

Additionally, standing committee clerks can also be of assistance; they are:

Cath Petroskey: 517-373-8538

Zita Gregg: 373-6920
