Hospital expansions / growth

There seems to be a really big burst of activity going on in Upstate with hospital expansions. While flying in on Friday morning I got a good look at the size of the land being cleared for the Greenville Hospital Systems new campus in Greer. Huge! This thing is suppose to have both in patient and out patient, nursing facilities, homes, retail, daycare, etc. Anybody have any updates on this project?

In addition to this, I had heard Spartanburg Regional had a plan to build a new campus of off 14 in Greer.

Additional medical construction:

Recently completed Spartanburg Regional addition.

Greenville System Simpsonville campus in the middle of a large addition.

Greenville System Patewood campus doubling in size.

Greenville Systems new Medical University

St. Francis Patewood addition

A lot of activity!

Ya the Greer GHS site is huge about 120 acres, they are actually still buying land too, bought 1.64 acres last week. Construction on the site should start within a month or 2. It will be assissted living set up cottage style, the only other place in the US like this is in Tupelo Mississippi.

Next should be an actual hospital building but that could be a ways off. The whole campus will have walking trails and eventually a community fitness center and gathering rooms for the local community to use.

As for the Spartanburg Regional site on 14 it is something like 75 acres and the first building is already about done.
