^^ According to the architects' website, construction on the Riverwalk Hotel was supposed to begin in May 2007. It's planned to be a 5-star seven story hotel with restaurants on the first floor, parking on second and third floors, and hotel rooms on the fourth floor and above.

Has this project been announced? This would be a great infill project -- hope it wasn't cancelled.

going back to the riverwalk hotel, theres some construction going on next to the hyatt, so im guessing that is what it is, looks like they've got 2 or 3 floors up so far.

The Hotel you guys are talking about is part of Richard Kessler's Boutique Hotels..... he is a Savannah born- Orlando Based Developer.... the hotel is called the Bohemian hotel....... its going to be so nice, with a restaurant on the top floor... http://www.bohemianhotelsavannah.com/

Kessler only develops in the best cities... check out other hotels he does also, all over the country...

PS - he also owns the Mansion on Forysth Park!

New $90M movie studio to create 1,200 jobs near Savannah!

This is major news for the Savannah Metro Area. Second only to the expansion is the Savannah Port of course. The movie studios will take up all of the IDA's Interstate 16 property in Effingham County. This development will also be very green. Savannah's lifestyle and weather were big draws. I adore the Savannah area. It's my second favorite metro area in the state. Of course I'm a big fan of palm trees, sunshine and oceanfront so that helps.

I am happy to see this added to its many recent business growth announcements. Savannah does not get talked up enough. There is a great deal of game changing development going on there. It also speaks to the growing movie industry in the state. With this development, I'm sure more quality establishments will follow for the area. I'm super excited.

The Medient campus will be built on the IDA's Interstate 16 property. It will be environmentally friendly, with no carbon-producing vehicles and with health care, day care and schooling for workers and their families, the Savannah paper reported. Medient (OTCQB:MDNT) is a global film production and distribution company with a strong presence in India and North America.
