6 people at a time doesn't get people around at the volume of the monorail.  I know the monorail has its own issues, but I find it hard to believe at 6 people per cart that it would be worth it if you're trying to move people around.

WTF?  Are they crazy?  6 people only.

It's a way to move you from place to place.  You're able to go ride the monorail, ferryboat, buses, and other boats to your hearts content currently.  I'd be shocked if there was anything preventing you.

There you go.  Now do you believe they'll probably restrict it to resort guests only- at only 6 people per gondola?

Six people per gondola could work, if they are running in a continuous loop and coming in every minute or so. They could always upgrade later if it becomes overburdened. Aren't they just connecting their least busy parks - Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and a couple of resorts with it?

This 3-month old article from the Sentinel says that Reedy Creek documents say the cabs are expected to carry 10 people a piece, and names Doppelmayr as the manufacturer. I think this will be similar to the Emirates Air Line in London, which is a single-line system with 10-person gondolas. That system can carry 2500 pax/hr--about 50 bus-loads.

This is subscriber content so I can't read the article, but this is potentially huge news if the developer decides to build this in Orlando. Apparently the developer is trying to decide between eight cities to build this in.

Professional cricket company eyeing Orlando for 26,000-seat stadium

This is a prototype for the type of stadium and mixed-use development U.S. professional cricket teams plan.

In that intro paragraph at OBJ, it sounds like they are saying he wants to build stadiums in eight cities, Orlando potentially being one of them.

Yeah, they worded it kind of weird. It's hard to tell if they're saying he wants to build potentially eight stadiums, or build one stadium and he's considering eight locations.

I'd anticipate more then one gondola per minute, especially during peak times. They don't have the spacing requirements of the monorail and more then one can be loaded at a time. 3 or 4 per minute isn't unrealistic from my understanding.

Dropping things from the Skyway was an ongoing issue (not to mention the little porn shows going on high above Fantasyland at night, particularly on Grad Nites -what amazing views the cast members working the transfer station as the cabins changed directions over the Grand Prix Raceway midway often got!)

..the what

In the words of the kid in the classic Atari 5200 commercial..."Now you're talkin'".  That's very similar to the Orlando Eye gondolas in structure.  That's acceptable if they're at least that big.

This is the one in Koblenz Germany.  HERE  I rode this one and felt it was plenty comfortable, solid and roomy and I'm deathly afraid of heights.   There were two cars in the whole chain that had the glass bottom like this.  The rest were solid.  I count 20 people in this photo, and I know the solid bottom ones held more.   I'll honestly be surprised if they're any smaller than this one.   The one I posted earlier from Ober Gatlinburg is larger than this.

this looks almost identical to the size used on the Orlando Eye.  I like it.

In all the D23 hoopla for WDW I forgot to mention Disney's Riviera Resort, the DVC hotel that will adjoin the Caribbean Beach. This is a good-size property that, in conjunction with the tower being built at Coronado Springs, will give DVC a huge new presence in moderate resorts.

The Riviera will also be able to take advantage of the Skyliner.

Wow.  That's pretty substantial.  I feel like this is becoming a heavyweight bout.  Bam, boom, counterpunch, boom...
