that's fantastic for the brand and for Orlando.

So I was coincidentally watching clips from Blackfish last night, and other videos showing Orcas hunting in the wild.  Sea Wolves is what they call them.  They pack attack Blue Whales and lay over them to keep them from being able to surface to breathe- they know they'll drown them; they can take out a Great White; they use snack fish to use as bait to catch live Stork type of birds out of mid-air by hurling their torso forward with their whale tail.  They hunt Dolphins.

What am I trying to say?  That capturing an Orca and training it to do tricks means only that you trained an extremely dangerous predator to do tricks that can attack it's trainer when it's sick and tired of doing tricks for fish snacks at any time.  They eat Seals and Sea Lions and Penguins. They are smart.  They are cunning.  They are not lobotomized robots only interested in pleasing you for fish.  They are simply biding their time.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer on this but after seeing all this footage, I am just shaking my head at their collective wisdom.

I can't imagine how this place still exists.

Back when they proposed it, Millennia had not been built yet and the outlets across the street were still Belz Outlets.  I believe that Premium Vineland was just about to begin construction or already had opened.  They had a list of all the tenants on their website.  Then, one day, all of those tenants' names vanished, sans Bass, the Cinema, and maybe a handful more like Ron Jon.  Once it opened, Millennia was already open, Premium was open, and Belz was beginning it's redo.

They had 3 factory outlets in there, like Nine West, etc.  They lasted a short while.  Too bad, they should've pushed the outlet angle of retailers to get traction.  Now, with Grand National open, it should help with more traffic I would think.

Honestly, they need to just implode and start new. The problem is that they complicated the hell out of it since they sold outparcels to Bass Pro Shop and Cinemark.

...and I think that the Artegon people, when they were looking to sell, back when they kicked all of the tenants out a couple of years back, were hoping that Universal would purchase it.  I had posted that I spoke to a shop owner that used to work for Universal and saw surveyors from Universal on site back before they closed it down.  I was also told about the easement the City gave Universal over Grand National for transit.  So, it looked like all fingers were pointing in that direction.  Then, Universal did not buy it, and this other group from SoFla did.  So the mall is still there without those former tenants.  I thought maybe the owners gave the tenants a line, but it was one of the tenants that told me what he saw.  Anyway, if Unicorp were to get involved, I'm pretty sure they could turn that dog into a prized pony.

My understanding is between Cinemark and Bass Pro, they offered more money then the owner at the time paid for the entire land just a few years prior, and the tenants inside were mostly not paying, so it likely seemed like a no brainer at the time to get out ahead. Although I think Universal probably was more likely, the statements at the time were a new, out of area national theme park operator, who also had a contract on the empty land immediately to the south of it, but I imagine the lease issues and Cinemark/Bass Pro killed the theme park idea. Universal already was fighting its lawsuit on the Universal Blvd land so its possible it wasn't them, and we also had rumors WWE was involved for IP at that time.

Pics of the new Potter coaster in Hogsmeade at Uni:

Also, Fun Fact: 4 Spaceship Earths would fit inside the new Guardians of the Galaxy show building at Epcot...

I heard the Guardians building is immense; didn’t realize it was that immense.

The HP land at Uni looks awesome.  Hopefully there will be a lot of walking and theming area like Hogsmeade has even if you aren’t getting on the coaster.
