that's the old proposal-- I think 42 stories. the new one was supposed to be 32 stories... so 35 stories sounds much better now. Peabody I is 28 stories, so, ratio-wise, the new tower should be close to the height of the one pictured in that diagram... that's 7 more stories of height.

any one know whats going on with the mercado redevelopment....anyone know whats going on with the square?.....are they still going to have the belagio style water fountain?....do they have tennants?....is the hotel still going in?

onative i bet you have info on this one...fill us in!

they announced tenants for The Square a while ago (restaurants)... somewhere back in this thread. I think the hotel component is going to front Universal Blvd., while the retail portion fronts I-Drive. not sure about the fountain specifically.

It should be right around the 400' mark.

Don't be suprised to see 53' grip trucks, honey wagons, talent trailers, and catering set up around town. Feature film shooting, again after a long draught. Go us!

Last year, we had Sydney White, Bring It On: In It To Win It (#4), Ace Ventura Jr. (#3), and Get Some (working title now changed to Never Back Down). So far this year, we have Bait Shop and Beethoven 5 and a Half (#6). The number is the number of the sequel. That does not include any of the locally made indie / non-studio backed films in town.

Just as a heads up

Aquatica is set to open very soon

and Harry Potter has started going vertical at IOA universal

as well as bunch of other new changes happening at both parks....looks like the next few years will bring lots of new rides and other theme park related tourist areas

this will probably have a huge impact on Orlando as Universal has already turned things around in a big way and with some major new things in the works inside and outside the park, as well as disney stepping up trying to counter act all the happenings at Universal

cant wait to see where we are a few years from now, the whole area should be electric
