Photo Submissions for PVD Projects v2.1

Recommended Posts

I'm going to work on updating the Project Thread again over the next couple of weeks. As you may have read in the Photo of the Day thread, I got myself a shiny new camera this week. I will be taking photos of many of the project sites to use in the new thread. I'd like to get original photos of all the project sites and not have to rely on any pictures found online (except for the renderings of course).

If anyone would like to submit photos of their own for the projects I'd love to include them. I will be editing the photos for size, adding project information (the blue bar with the project name seen in the current project thread), and putting a small UrbanPlanet logo on them. I'll also include a "Photo submitted by: ..." on them.

If you would like your photo included, please email it to me at cotuitmail-at-mac.com. Include the project the photo is for, your UrbanPlanet username, and how you would like to be credited on the "Photo submitted by: ..." part. Including your user name in the image's name would help too.

I especially would like photos of projects outside of the Downcity area, South Providence, the East Side (Garris, Wayland condos)...

Thanks for your help!

Your wish is my command. Here is a photo of the revised proposed Wayland condos for the Katherine Gibbs School site. The street running horizontally on the bottom of the image is Butler Ave running S->N from L->R and the street crossing it is South Angell.

BTW: The neighboring condo and Association are coming out against it and the early word is that it would need, like, 10 variances to get passed (everything from units per sq foot, to green space, to height, etc, etc, etc) so this design might be DOA, but it gives an idea of what they want.

  • 4 weeks later...

I've received a few pictures, thanks everyone, I'm eager for anymore anyone wants to send me.

I also need to know what projects are missing from the v2.0 thread.

Obviously the new projects from February, I'll be adding:

One Ten Westminster

Updates on the Holiday Inn Hilton

Power Block 55 Broadway

Power Block unknown location

New renderings for the Westin

Updates on Parcel 2

I'll also be adding:

Puente

Save the Bay HQ

Conley's Allens Ave. Project

I'm looking for any information/images anyone has on:

J&W Harborside Campus

Anything else I'm not thinking of...

I'm also going to put something together on stuff "Outside Providence" including Warwick Station, Pawtucket Projects, some stuff in Woonsocket... Anything else anyone can think to add? The Outside Providence stuff won't be as comprehensive as the Providence stuff, basically just a list of projects and a short paragraph about them.

Has anyone driven by the couple of blocks immediately south of Public Street between Eddy adn Prairie? There's a whole bunch of houses going on at the same time. As far as I can remember, most of the lots used to be just empty. Smart density? I don't know if this qualifies for Providence v2.1 though.

Cotuit, do you still need photos of the Katherine Gibbs building in Wayland Sq that's going to be replaced by condos eventually?  If so, I'll go snap some shots today...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, I do, I rarely make it that far east.

Gordon St. South Providence, 3+ acres. (proposed)

There's a few things on the south and west sides that I know I'm forgetting. Do you have any more info on this one?

Heritage Harbor/Mixed Use/Starwood Wasserman (800,000 sqf) (proposed)

Good catch, I wish we knew a bit more about this. Heritage Harbor Museum seems to be dead, but this Starwood Wasserman thing seems to have come out of nowhere, and has received no press that I've seen

Produce Market/Carpionato (proposed/in progress?)

Another good catch!

Dorrance St. Greene St/Churchill Banks (proposed)

Wish there was a rendering on this :(

Eagle Square/Urban Smart Growth (proposed/in progress?)

Eagle Square is in the list of Completed projects, I didn't list those above

Outside Prov not sure if you're including stuff from the Prov. area or just the city itself):

Hope Webbing, Pawt (proposed)

Royal Mills, W. Warwick (in progress)

Greystone Mills, N. Prov, (proposed)

I think I'm going to do another list of Outside Providence stuff

A neighbor of mine who used to work for Heritage Harbor told me some time ago that the museum was going to team up with a developer. The Projo ran the story last summer that the museum was going to work with an as yet unnamed developer but apparently never followed up on it. Rumor has it that there will be a lot of bio research space.

Produce Market/Carpionato (proposed/in progress?)

Another good catch!

Don't know what kind of use of the timeframe on this.

Dorrance St. Greene St/Churchill Banks (proposed)

Looks like you had one of these-200 Dyer St. (Dorrance St.)

Eagle Square/Urban Smart Growth (proposed/in progress?)

Eagle Square is in the list of Completed projects, I didn't list those above

But this is different. The mill bldgs in the parcel within Eagle-Atwells-Valley that were not part of the Eagle Sq. project are going to be turned into loft style apts by the same company that is doing Hope Webbing in Pawt.

Outside Prov not sure if you're including stuff from the Prov. area or just the city itself):

Hope Webbing, Pawt (proposed)

Royal Mills, W. Warwick (in progress)

Greystone Mills, N. Prov, (proposed)

I think I'm going to do another list of Outside Providence stuff

I see. I had heard the Eagle Square people were going to tackle another project in the area, but I hadn't heard anything offical about it. Do you know if there is a website on it, or if there is any info out there? j at ArtInRuins probably has something.

I don't really know what's up with that 200 Dyer one, but I'm including it. Frankie (I think) posted that Churchill & Banks was looking for proposals for the Greene Street Townhouses (which were announced a year ago), but they don't have a rendering on their site.

Here you go.

Proccacianti used to own the buildings in question. The developer is not Feldco, who did the original and controversial Eagle Sq. development, but Artist Lofts LLC from Los Angeles, the same folks who are doing Hope Webbing.

No longer proposed, it's under construction and looking very nice!

Crap, I knew that, now I have to change everything! :( If it keeps raining I should be done with this soon though.
