Back to solid information, the Nauticus parking lot is being reconfigured to eliminate the little traffic circle and create more of a large oval covering the entire parking area to better handle the dropping off and picking up process. Looks to be a nice improvement.

Chesapeake Pirate he is just trying to get someone upset. Don't play into. He has admitted multiple times that he likes to troll sites.

At a meeting of the Downtown Norfolk Council membership this morning, Norfolk Director of Development Rod Woolard indicated that completion is now slated for the "spring" of 2007, and that original completion date of March 2007 will likely not be met.

Norfolk expects 92,000 cruise passengers in 2007, from 30 homeport cruises and 5 stopovers.

They are getting great reactions from the cruise lines, and expect business to remain steady and improve.

That's awesome news. This cruise terminal is really going to be something Norfolk can be proud of, and will really 'up' our status as a cruise port.

5th Carnival Cruise

Carnival adds a fifth cruise out of Norfolk in 2008

"The Miami-based line's 2008 trips from Norfolk are three 6-night Bahamas cruises and two 2-night "Cruises to Nowhere" voyages to the ocean and back. The trips are all in June and October on the 3,300-passenger Carnival Victory. "

"It's just a sign of good things to come," Kirkland said of Carnival's decision. The year "2008 will be a banner year for us. We're certainly talking with all the lines, and we should have some very good news very soon."

It doesn't get much better than that! I can't wait 'til this thing opens! Someone has to go take pics of the first Carnival Cruise from there. Does anyone know the date when that happens?
