I will be very excited for Richmond if this happens. I just moved to Richmond about a month ago and will be happy to have this within two miles of my place. Although I did want to see my hometown (Charlotte) get this brewery, having it in my new city will be awesome.

Is the old warehouse a part of the proposed property? If so, I hope they renovate it and incorporate it into their brewery.

I'm not familiar with Stone, but it sounds pretty cool (even though I'm not a drinker), but anything to bring people to Richmond! I'm all for it. Hopefully Richmond puts together a very competitive package to lure them in. If they can bring the Redskins here, they can do this! Any idea on when the final decision will be made? Any intel Coupe? :)

According to the T-D this morning, appears that they're looking mainly at the empty lot near the river down by the cement plant.  Talk about bringing some life to the riverfront?  That's exactly the sort of "destination" we desperately need down there.  Would pair quite well with the new ballpark in the bottom ;)

Well, it certainly sounds promising.  Perhaps we are on the shorter of the "short list" and from what I can gather by all the "scrambling" going on in the city - as long as the city presents a good offer, we could very well land this thing!  Fingers are crossed!

After many months of battling the state, ride sharing services Uber and Lyft have been allowed temporary approval for continued operation in Virginia. They have been operating in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads.

Now, Uber has begun operation in RVA:

Richmond is now a top 3 finalist for the Stone brewery.  Roanoke was their number four option:

“We have narrowed the focus of our search for an Eastern U.S. brewery to Columbus, OhioNorfolk, Virginia and Richmond, Virginia, but won’t be at a point where we can announce our final decision until at least several weeks from now. But we’re excited and on our way,” the Stone Brewing Co. posted.

Talhimer is now also pushing for another site for the brewery.

But not surprised. Seeing the history of development patterns (and lack thereof) in that area, I wouldn't expect anything that tall to make it past Council anyway.
