Looks fantastic! That bend could probably support more hight but thats a nice addition to the neighborhood. The round spot right behind it would be an amazing location for a tower (or a park).

Proposed 105 acre water park in chesterfield. Really excited for this project as I live only a few miles away. It'll be a good addition to the area seeing how we only have neighborhoods and strip malls around here.

Wow, 3 years to build up the park in 3 phases and up to 20 years to build out the townhouses?  That's almost stupid slow.  The lure of the park will be gone in 20 years to draw people to live there. I think this needs to be done all at the same time. 3 years is okay for the park development, but I think that the housing needs to be on the same timetable (total buildout in 3 years).  Just my gut feeling and opinion.

Hey it's different than the usual mass neighborhoods and strip malls so it got me excited.

You know, this reminds me of Uppy's proposal for an indoor water park off of 360...what happened to that proposal, I wonder?  I believe that he was trying to get started on it by early last year, but I've heard absolutely nothing.  Perhaps he's run into trouble.  Anyone have any updates?

I'm pretty sure Uphoff cancelled the project but I'm not 100% positive.

Dang it!  Was really looking forward to having something like that in Midloathian. I never heard an announcement that he cancelled...could I have missed it?

The townhouses should be very nice, I just hope they will be visible.  But man, 5-story townhouses?!  That's a lot of steps!

I also like the Nexus Tower (though I wish it were taller - I'm not one of the "save the view" people over there) and hope it adds a nice, newer-looking piece on that side of Tobacco Row.

You are correct; from RichmondBizsense: Tech firm plugs in at Riverfront Plaza "AvePoint Inc., which specializes in Microsoft Cloud services and software, on Friday announced its intention to open an office in Riverfront Plaza and hire at least 100 employees here by the end of the year."

 

Another cool develop-bit from Bizsense: Former W. Broad bingo hall eyed for redevelopment "The former bingo hall at 2900 W. Broad St. is under contract to be sold as it gears up for a potential zoning change that could lead to construction of a new five-story mixed-use building, making it one of the taller buildings in the fast-growing neighborhood."

Higher density along the BRT corridor is great news. Hoping this trend continues throughout the year.

Yeah, I hope the BRT system brings a lot if development along the corridor. We might not see much of it until construction begins on the system, but dang, if this is what we're seeing now before BRT, just think what it will be like when it's built!

Looks like the commercial/retail portion of Reynolds South (400-600 block of Hull Street) was filed for rezoning with the City on 1/27 according to the Richmond Parcel Mapper's Land Use Projects' website. Pure speculation, but perhaps Publix might look into Manchester for their second location in the Richmond market?
