Guys guys guys, what you have to remember about the casino is this.

The Pamunkey are a Native American Tribe. They are building this casino to help their tribe, not to help Richmond or Norfolk. I am not surprised they looking at Norfolk as the majority of the Tribe who lives off reservation lives in Hampton Roads. They are simply trying to get the most jobs for their people as possible.

While I'm sure cities and localities have plenty to do with the negotiations,  you cannot discount the fact that in the end, the Pamunkey are doing this for their people, so it would make sense to be close to where their people live so that they have access to these jobs.

Just something to really keep in mind on this topic.

Coupe, you’ve known me for years...that comment was not like me.  My apologies folks.  I’m not without mistakes and yesterday, my emotions got the better part of me.  Please forgive me.  We’re in this together and we all want the best to happen to Richmond, I just got a little frustrated when it didn’t.  I will do better.

Theres something better in Richmond’s future instead of this project.  This is a great time to be alive - to witness Richmond’s economic revival!

Did seem like you were hijacked. :)

I found the part about "where their people live" funny....like in a LMAO type of way. I have lived in HR since 1991 and I have never met or known of any person that claimed to be from this tribe or anything of the sort.

Now, if this was a Filipino casino and you said that....I would have been like, yep I can see that.

The fact that you laugh at that says a lot.

I'm sorry you haven't met any of the couple hundred Pamunkey Tribe members out of the almost 2 million people who call HR home.

Not sure if you are truly offended by my comment, I'm sorry if you were. I honestly, never knew these tribe members lived here.

It's ok, I've worked a lot with tribal entities and one of the most difficult things to deal with is getting people to take the tribes seriously, especially on the east coast where they just aren't as visible.

Tower crane parts and an assembly crane at the diamond parking lot. Wonder where they’re headed?

Good question...I can’t think of where they could put another, unless it’s a second one for the VCU Outpatient Tower.  Maybe we are forgetting something.

Great recon, Coupe!!

I think it’s red and white.

It’s not for VCU if it’s red and white. Probably for one of the 6-7 story developments off of Broad (south of Broad) a few blocks away from the Boulevard intersection...can’t remember the name of it at the moment.

Thanks for the link!  I like it (except maybe the flat roof, but the height is good).  My only question is how legit is this proposal?  Seems very preliminary and maybe not even official.  Very few details.  How did you know this was Broad and Madison?

Curious the details as well.  The  buildings certainly match up as Broad & Madison.  The facade makes it difficult to determine height, but considering that the visible portion of left most building is the main six floors of Quirk, this appears to be 12-14 floors.  That would be a nice mix with the other Monroe Ward / Park towers.
