The official opening of the new downtown YMCA is scheduled for Monday Dec. 5. Read about it here.

Slight correction.... It's open to founding members on Thursday, December 1. It's open for business on Monday, December 5.

This is an outstanding addition to downtown. I also have a family membership. We are all looking forward to next week.

Its a very cool design and i really like what they accomplished but after touring it i dont think the facility is going to be large enough. I was less than impressed with their weight training facilities and if they get half the people they are expecting there will be lines at all the lifting machines. But hey, it looks great.
