Lexington-Thomasville area honored by Site Selection magazine

The Lexington-Thomasville "micropolitan" area, a new designation by the U.S. Census Bureau, has been ranked as one of the top micropolitan areas in the country by Site Selection magazine.

The magazine had Lexington-Thomasville as eighth in its March 2005 issue, according to a statement from the Davidson County Economic Development Commission.

In 2004, Lexington-Thomasville had 11 economic development projects that met Site Selection's criteria of creating at least 50 jobs, investing at least $1 million or having 20,000 square feet of construction.
